Data partnerships for AI training

Explore a licensing conversation for data you own or are authorized to represent. Start with source, coverage and permission evidence.

Describe the asset before sharing it

Publishers, research groups, specialist businesses and collection partners may have distinctive data that can help an AI team address a specific gap. Begin with a non-confidential description of its provenance, modality, languages, approximate scale, update frequency and known limitations. An introductory conversation does not require uploading a corpus or connecting a private repository.

Establish who can license what

Identify the organization that controls the asset, contributors and third-party materials, the original collection purpose, and the evidence available for permissions review. Explain any restrictions on model training, evaluation, redistribution, retention or derivative use. Personal information and confidential business records require separate handling decisions. A public URL or possession of a file does not establish licensing authority.

Review fit, then define a pilot

A suitable next step may be a controlled sample review or a small pilot with agreed acceptance criteria. Before transfer, discuss access controls, redaction needs, permitted-use scope, delivery format and what happens if the data fails the checks. Availability, compensation and contract terms depend on the specific source and demand; this page does not promise a buyer, payout or market valuation.
