Build an AI dataset brief
Define the task, coverage and acceptance criteria. Download the brief or review an email draft before you send it.
Make the request actionable
Name the model capability and whether the data is for training, fine-tuning or evaluation. Include modality, languages, approximate scale, desired timing and the hardest conditions you need covered. Specify a sample or pilot requirement and how you will judge its quality. A clear acceptance test is more useful than an unqualified volume target.
Include rights and delivery constraints
Describe the permitted uses you require, access controls, retention limits, formats and metadata. Do not put raw datasets or confidential details in the brief. The first discussion establishes feasibility and the evidence needed for rights review; a draft is not a purchase order or delivery commitment.
