One learning vision

A patient guide, wherever learning happens.

Platform

Learn on the web

Edge

Study on-device

Classroom

Learn together

Local-first · teacher-respecting · built for access

Product thesis

Scale attention, not replace teachers.

The constraint

Start with the real friction.

Personal guidance is scarce, while connectivity, hardware, language, and classroom size determine whether a learner can benefit from digital education at all.

The response

Open Gurukul treats online, edge, and classroom experiences as three forms of one learning vision. It combines source-grounded study flows with private on-device AI and teacher-respecting classroom delivery.

System map

How the pieces fit.

  1. 01

    Platform

A web learning environment for turning trusted source material into clear, visual courses and guided study.

  2. 02

    Edge

A private study companion that can run a supported language model directly on a learner’s Android device.

  3. 03

    Classroom

A shared learning mode designed around one Android device connected to a television or large classroom display.

What it does

Concrete capability.

  • Source-grounded course and study experiences on the web
  • Offline-capable Android tutoring with supported on-device Gemma models
  • Questions, explanations, flashcards, quizzes, notes, and mind maps
  • PDF, DOCX, camera, QR sharing, multilingual UI, and read-aloud support

Product principles

The choices behind it.

  1. 01Learning is a relationship, not a one-shot answer
  2. 02AI extends patient teaching; it does not replace the teacher
  3. 03Local-first operation is a privacy and continuity advantage
  4. 04Every capability must remain legible and usable on modest Android devices

Evidence, not theatre

What can be said clearly.
